(Mishnah): One may not [light] with Chelev.

Version #1 (Rav Berona): One may put any amount of [good] oil into Chelev and light with it.

Objection (R. Yosi): What is the case? If it is melted [Chelev, it is permitted] without a drop of oil!

Support: Shmuel taught that anything that we melt it, and it does not solidify [quickly], this is melted, and one may light with it!

And if it is not melted, even if he puts in oil [one may not light with it]!

Correction - Version #2 (Rav Chananyah citing Rav Berona citing Rav): Melted Chelev and fish innards, one may light with them.

[A case occurred in which] R. Chiya bar Ashi was late to come in front of Rav [on Erev Shabbos], and [Rav] said to him "where were you?'', and he said that he needed to get olive oil.

Rav: Did you not have fish innards?! (They were readily available.)

Some teach that one may light with kerosene. Some teach that one may not light with kerosene.

(Rav Chisda): The one who says that one may light discusses black kerosene. The one who says that one may not light discusses white kerosene, which is dangerous (the flame flies, and can burn the house).
