(Mishnah): Half a Log of wine [is the minimal amount of Ma'aser Oni that we give to an Oni]. R. Akiva says, it is a Revi'is. (The Seifa teaches that a Revi'is is the Shi'ur of oil; R. Akiva says, an eighth [of a Log].)

(R. Elazar): And similarly [is the Shi'ur] for an Eruv.

Answer (R. Chinena): [R. Elazar] refers to wine, but not to oil. [For oil], the Shi'ur is [what is consumed with] food for two meals;

(Beraisa): We may be Me'arev with vinegar [consumed with] food for two meals. We may be Me'arev with oil [consumed with] food for two meals.

(R. Yirmeyah citing R. Shmuel bar Rav Yitzchak): [The Shi'ur for vinegar] is in order to dip in it vegetables eaten in two meals [and similarly for oil].

(R. Yitzchak Atushiya citing R. Yanai's academy, to R. Ze'ira): One may be Me'arev with raw peas.

According to whom did he need to teach this? It is according to R. Meir. One should not say that since they spoil the mouth (cause bad breath), one may not be Me'arev with them.

One may be Me'arev with salted fish. One may be Me'arev with salted meat. Raw meat - a Mishnah teaches that [when Yom Kipur fell on Erev Shabbos, and the Chatas of Musaf Yom Kipur could be eaten only on Shabbos night, and there was no Heter to cook it,] Bavliyim would eat it raw, because they are amenable. (Therefore, one may be Me'arev with it.)

Question (R. Yudan): Kalvuda (a certain food), since Kusim eat it raw, may one be Me'arev with it?
