Yerushalmi Nedarim, 6:5: Having already listed "Bar" and "Lechem", "Mazon" is coming to include other foods, all of which fall under the heading of 'Mazon', except for water and salt.
Why did Yosef send to his father both male and female donkeys?
Ramban: Because, when sending animal-gifts, it is the done thing to send both male and female of the same species. 1
Why did he send the provisions on ten donkeys, seeing as they were eleven brothers?
