Question: From where is it known that movables can be acquired together with land through money, a document or an act displaying ownership?

Answer (R. Yosi citing Chizkiyah/ R. Yonah/ R. Chaninah Turtaya citing Chizkiyah): The pasuk states (Divrei Hayamim II 21:3), "And their father gave them many gifts of silver, of gold, and of precious things, with fortified cities in Yehudah".

Question: This teaches only if the fields are with the movables in the same place. What if they were in two different places?

Proof (R. Bun b'R. Chiya): R. Eliezer told them - There was once a man from Madon who lived in Yerushalayim, who had a large amount of movables that he wished to give out. They told him, "You must acquire a piece of land and then give the field to the receiver of the gift". He went and acquired one rock on the side of Yerushalayim and said, "I am giving the northern half to Ploni with 100 barrels of wine and I am giving the southern half to Ploni with 100 barrels of oil." The Chachamim approved this.

(R. Chananya to R. Mana): Wasn't he a Shechiv MeRa (deathly ill person) - and although a healthy person must give through a document, a Shechiv MeRa can give through mere words. And they were also lenient to say that although a healthy person must have the movables piled up in the land in order to give them together, a Shechiv MeRa can do so even if the movables are elsewhere.

Rebuttal (R. Mana): No, this teaching fits into the opinion of R. Eliezer (who does not view a Shechiv MeRa as different to a heathy person). He views a Shechiv MeRa like the Rabbanan's healthy person. (Just as the Rabbanan's healthy person needs to make an acquisition, so does R' Eliezer's Shechiv MeRa. Just as in the case of the Shechiv Mera from Madon, they were not piled up, so too a healthy person's movables do not need to be piled up.
