They said to him "when?'' He said to them, when you want, He wants. If you want, request! They said, [we want -] who is Me'akev? He said, Teshuvah - "Shuvu Esayu.''

(R. Acha citing R. Tanchum bei R. Chiyah): If Yisrael would repent one day, immediately [Mashi'ach] ben David would come. What is the source? "Ha'Yom Im b'Kolo Sishma'u.''

(R. Levi): If Yisrael would guard one Shabbos properly, immediately Ben David would come. What is the source? "Va'Yomer Moshe Ichluhu ha'Yom Ki Shabbos ha'Yom...'' - [this refers to guarding] one day, and it says "b'Shuvah va'Nachas Tiva'she'un'' - through the merit of resting on Shabbos, you will be redeemed.
