WHEN A WALL DIVIDES CHATZEROS (Yerushalmi Perek 7 Halachah 2 Daf 46a)

(a)

(Mishnah): If a wall between two Chatzeros is 10 Tefachim tall and four Tefachim thick, the Chatzeros can be Me'arev individually but not together;

If there are Peros on top of the wall, these (people from this Chatzer) may alight [on the wall] and eat them, and these may alight and eat them, but they may not take them down.

If the wall was breached up to 10 Amos, the Chatzeros can be Me'arev individually or together, for it is like an opening;

(Gemara) Question: Why must we say that it is four thick? Even if it is not four thick (the Chatzeros can be Me'arev individually but not together)!

Yochanan): Ledges and [protrusions from] walls that are 10 [Tefachim] tall and not four wide, they are permitted here [to transfer between them and Reshus ha'Yachid] and here [to transfer between them and Reshus ha'Rabim], as long as they do not transfer [between Reshus ha'Rabim and Reshus ha'Yachid via the ledge].

Question (R. Chanan): R. Ba contradicts himself! There, R. Ba cited Rav Yehudah citing Shmuel to say that if one threw something [from Reshus ha'Rabim] and it landed on top of walls (that enclose four by four Tefachim), he is liable, and here he says so (that the top is forbidden to both of them, for it is Batel to them)?!

Just like you say there, that you view (what is within the walls) as if it were full of earth and pebbles, also here so (you should consider the ledge like part of Reshus ha'Yachid)!
