Shalom again,
More chizuk I hope...coming from the kollel...
In yomah 3a the gemara says that the kohen gadol takes money from his own funds.
Question... I thought that the kohanim not only don't have funds of their own but not even land that belongs to them.
How could the kohen gadol pay with which he does not have?
Dear Elie,
True, a Kohen has no share in Eretz Yisrael. But no where do we see that he can't work for pay. Why can't he have funds of his own?
Also there is a special Mitzva that the Kohen Gadol is made the richest Kohen by getting money from other Kohanim (Rambam Hilchos Klei HaMikdash 5:1)
All the best,
Reuven Weiner
