If nobody is chasing us, why will we flee?
Rashi: Because we will be terror-stricken.

Moshav Zekenim: Regarding being chased, Midah Tovah exceeds the Midah of punishment. 1
I.e. it is better that when we flee, there is no one is chasing you to catch you and kill you. (PF) However, refer to 26:17:152:1.
Why is it considered a curse that you flee, and no one pursues yous? This is better (that there is no one to catch you and kill you)!
Divrei Eliyahu: "Veha'Elokim Yevakesh Es Nirdaf" (Koheles 3:15) - Hashem always seeks [to save] the one who is chased, even if a Tzadik chases a Rasha (Vayikra Rabah 27:5). Since no one is chasing you, Hashem need not save you.
