Rashi: From all of them (Melachos, Pilagshim and Alamos), one is chosen to Me for a Yonah Tamah - its heart is Temimah (totally pure) with its mate.

Seforno: She clings to Me like a dove to her husband.

Malbim (Melitzah): This is Nefesh ha'Kedoshah; it is alone among them. She has no colleague or sister among all bodily powers. She is separated from all derivatives of this lowly world.

Malbim (Mashal): She is my only dear friend.

What is the meaning of "Achas Hi l'Imah"?

1.

Rashi: The gathering of Yisrael - [even though] they have many arguments in Batei Midrash, all of them, their hearts are to understand the Emes of Torah.

2.

Seforno: [Yisrael] is [from] the only child of Sarah, but not [the only child] from Avraham, who fathered also Yishmael.

3.

Malbim (Melitzah): The body is called the mother of the Nefesh. The body did not beget anything like this beloved.

4.

Malbim (Mashal): Her mother did not give birth to another like her.

What is the meaning of "Barah Hi l'Yoladtah"?

1.

Rashi: Yakov saw that his bed (children) were complete, without any disqualification, and thanked and praised Hashem - "va'Yishtachu Yisrael Al Rosh ha'Mitah" (Bereishis 47:31).

Malbim (Melitzah): It is the Bar (pure) and fine flour of the Klal of nature. After nature ascended from inanimate to vegetative, from vegetative to living and from living to speaking (people), this Bas Shamayim is chosen over all of them.

Malbim (Mashal): She is clear and chosen to her mother, as if her mother chose her for herself.

Who saw whom?

1.

Rashi: [The nations] saw Yisrael in her greatness.

Seforno: Women like Rachav saw Yisrael and praised "Ki Hashem Elokeichem Hu ha'Elokim ba'Shamayim mi'Ma'al v'Al ha'Aretz mi'Sachas" (Yehoshua 2:11).

Malbim (Melitzah): All other creations saw Nefesh ha'Kedoshah.

How did they praise her?

Rashi: "Mi Zos ha'Nishkafah" (10).

Malbim (Melitzah): It is the true happy one. Only it is Hashem's portion in His world. It is the crown of Nefashos and of the creation.

Who are "Melachos u'Filagshim", and how do they praise her?

1.

Seforno: Malchus Sheva and her Shifchos. She said "Ashrei Anashecha Ashrei Avadecha Eleh" (Melachim I, 10:8).

Malbim (Melitzah): They are bodily powers. They say that only she does not die. She knows and understands.

3.

Malbim (Mashal): They are Shlomo's wives and concubines - her rivals.
