HANA'AH FROM ORLAH AND FROM IDOLATRY (Yerushalmi Orlah Perek 3 Halachah 1 Daf 17b)

(R. Yochanan): [Dye] ingredients [of Orlah] mixed with ingredients are Batel in 200. Dye water mixed with dye water is Batel in a majority.

(R. Ba bar Mamal): Hana'ah from Orlah is Batel in a majority.

Question (against R. Ba bar Mamal - Mishnah): If a Tavshil was cooked with (the fuel was) peels of Orlah, it must be burned. (If it was mixed with others, it is Batel in 201.)

Answer: He establishes it to discuss a pot among pots. (If Orlah was used to fuel the kiln in which the pot was made, it is Batel among Heter pots.)

If there is not enough [Orlah] to dye, [even if] you view the Heter as if it is not, the Isur is not enough to forbid. (In the latter case one may be Mevatel l'Chatchilah, for in any case the Isur cannot forbid. - MAHARA FULDA.)

(Mishnah): The following things of Nochrim are forbidden, and they are Asur b'Hana'ah - their wine, Nochri vinegar that was initially wine, and Hadriani earthenware (it is soaked in wine, and it absorbs the wine. People break it and soak the shards in water, and wine exudes.)

(R. Chagai): When I descended from the boat, I heard the voice of R. Yakov bar Acha teaching 'if a garment was dyed with peels of Orlah, it must be burned', and a Mishnah teaches 'if one took from [an Asherah] a Karkar (a stick used for weaving), one may not benefit from it. If he wove a garment with it, it is Asur b'Hana'ah;

If Yayin Nesech fell into a pit (of Kosher wine), all is Asur b'Hana'ah;

Answer: There, it is not normal for people (Yisraelim) to buy wine from a Nochri. Here, it is normal for people to buy a garment from a Nochri (if he sells the garment to a Nochri, perhaps a Yisrael will buy it from him)!
