DAF DISCUSSIONS - BAVA METZIA 22

Shalom Goodman asks:

Why by a homemade loaf, if found in a public property its still a siman, doent the siman get ruined? Why is a homemade loaf different?

Shalom Goodman, United States

The Kollel replies:

According to Rava, a possibly trampled Siman should be announced (Havei Siman). According to Rabah, even if such a Siman is not valid, "Ein Ma'avirin Al ha'Ochlin," Jews pick up food and do not trample it. However, a standard public loaf has no Siman at all.

All the best,
