The passage in the Rashba is in
. וא"כ היכי הוא רשות היחיד and continues וא"ת א"כ אף גבוהה עשרה וגו' where he writes ד"ה רחבה
One sees from the fact that he mentions Reshus Hayachid that he understands that in principle the Petur is because the basket is itself Reshus Hayachid. This is seen somewhat more clearly in the Rif (at the top of 3a in the Rif pages) that we also cited in the Insights, who states explicitly that the basket is Reshus Hayachid.
