This is equivalent to outside the walls in which the Metzora lives - after they captured Eretz Yisrael (as we find in Melachim 2, 7:3 [Rashi there]).

Rashi writes that the Metzora is sent out of three camps, including Machaneh Shechinah. Even a Tahor may not enter Machaneh Shechinah!

Riva: Machaneh Shechinah is the Azarah. A Tahor may enter there, e.g. for Shechitas Pesach. Only kings of Beis David are permitted Yeshivah there, i.e. to delay (R"M of Kutzi).

Rashi writes that he must dwell alone. What is the reason? One who is Tamei Mes may be in Machaneh Levi and Machaneh Yisrael!

Rashi: Since he separated man and wife and man from his friend via his Leshon ha'Ra, 1 he is separated from society.

Da'as Zekenim, Hadar Zekenim: It is a contagious illness. (Moshav Zekenim - it afflicts even one who speaks with him.) 2 He is forbidden to have Bi'ah (refer to 13:46:1:2), for it is harmful to her (Da'as Zekenim; Hadar Zekenim - him).

If so, why do we postpone examining Tzara'as on a Chasan, or at the time of the Regel? He will be amidst many people! And we are Metaher one whose entire body has Tzara'as! (PF)
