What are "ha'Shok vehe'Aleha"?

1.

Rashi: They are the lower leg and the Yerech 1 (thigh) above it.

2.

Radak (citing R. Yochanan, Avodah Zarah 25a): It is the thigh and the tail that is Aleha (supported by it).

3.

Radak (citing R. Elazar, Avodah Zarah 25a): It is the thigh and the Chazeh (chest) that is put Aleha (on it, regarding a Shelamim) when they are waved.

4.

Radak (citing R. Shmuel bar Nachmani, Avodah Zarah 25a): It is the thigh and the Shofi, i.e. the cap that is Aleha (on it).

If Rashi means the Kaf of the thigh, this is like R. Shmuel bar Nachmani (refer to 9:24:1:4). (PF)

2)

Why was Sha'ul allowed to eat the Shok? Kohanim receive Chazah v'Shok!

1.

Rashi: Chazah v'Shok does not apply on a Bamah (Zevachim 119b). 1

The question was strongest according to the opinion that vehe'Aleha is the Chazah (refer to 9:24:1:3). The other opinions could have said that Sha'ul ate the left Shok. Kohanim get only the right Shok (Bamidbar 18:18)! Perhaps ha'Shok implies the known important thigh (PF).

Who told Sha'ul "Hinei ha'Nish'ar...."?

1.

Rashi, Radak: Shmuel said this.

2.

Malbim: The cook said this.

4)

What is "ha'Nish'ar"?

1.

Rashi: It is what remains [from the animal after taking] the portions of the invitees.

2.

Malbim: It is Chazah v'Shok. In a Shelamim offered in the Mikdash, they are the remnants from the fire given to Kohanim. Also on a Bamah, where this law does not apply, they are the esteemed parts.

5)

What is the meaning of "la'Mo'ed Shamur"?

1.

Rashi: This was reserved for your need at the time of eating.
