1)

Is this "Tachpanches" (Yirmeyah 43:7)?

1.

Radak: Yes, just the vowels are different [due to the prefix here]. Malbim - Beis Pharaoh was there, and there Yirmeyah buried big rocks in the Malben (where they burn or make bricks) at the opening of Pharaoh's house (Yirmeyah 43:9).

2)

Why does it say "Chasach ha'Yom"?

1.

Rashi: The light will be withheld. Radak - this is like "v'Lo Chasach Mimeni Me'umah" (Bereishis 39:9). Amidst great affliction, it is as if the day's light was withheld from it.

2.

Targum Yonasan: Darkness will be brought on Tachpanches during the day. Radak - he explains as if it says Chashach with a Shin.

3.

Malbim: This is a Mashal - from the beginning of the war, the day began to darken, until it reached Tachpanches. Then the day became totally dark. It uses this expression, for then the outposts of Beis Shemesh were broken, like it says in Yirmeyah there.

3)

What are "Motos Egypt"?

1.

Radak: Its yoke, which was on the nations (Malbim - on their neighbors).

2.

Radak citing Targum Yonasan: [I will break] the strength of Egypt.

4)

What is "Ge'on Uzah"?

1.

Malbim: It is Pharaoh.

5)

Will a cloud cover it?

1.

Rashi: Affliction will come upon it and cover it, and it will be dark, like a cloudy day.

2.

Radak citing Targum Yonasan: A king in his camp will cover it like a cloud that rises and covers the land.

3.

Malbim: All of them will be killed.

6)

What are "Benoseha"?

1.

Rashi citing Targum Yonasan: Its villages.

2.

Radak: The residents of the villages. They will go to captivity, for they have no strength to fight the enemy.
