What is the meaning of "va'Yizkor Yemei Olam Moshe Amo"?

1.

Rashi: The Navi laments, and supplicates 'today in Galus His nation remembers the old days - the days of Moshe.' In his affliction, he says 'where is Moshe our shepherd, who raised us from Yam Suf.'

2.

Radak: Yisrael in Galus recall the old days, when Hashem sent Moshe to His nation. It should say l'Amo; the prefix Lamed is omitted, like "va'Yavo Yerushalayim" (Shmuel II, 10:14) and similar verses.

3.

Radak based on Targum Yonasan: Hashem recalled

2)

Why do they say "where is the One who raised them from the sea?"

1.

Radak: In Egypt, many Jews served idolatry, like it says in Yechezkel. Even so, when Hashem saw their affliction, He had mercy on them - "va'Yishma Elokim Es Na'akasam" (Shemos 2:24). He revealed Himself to Moshe, and said "Ra'o Ra'isi Es Oni Ami Asher b'Mitzrayim" (ibid., 3:7). He took them out with wonders. Even so, when Egypt chased after them, they did not remember the wonders that He did for them, and said 1 "ha'Mibeli Ein Kevarim b'Mitzrayim

1

Chazal expounded that four fifths of Yisrael died during Makas Choshech, a month earlier. Perhaps they knew Hashem's ability, but thought that Hashem is angry at them! (PF)

3)

What is the Nimshal of shepherds?

1.

Rashi: Hashem put Ru'ach Kodsho [in Nevi'im] amidst Yisrael, and taught to them Chukim u'Mishpatim.

2.

Radak: The shepherds are Moshe and Aharon. Even though we sin in front of Him, also our fathers sinned, and He saved them at the time of their affliction. Why has this Galus extended so long for us, until we needed 1 to say "where is the One who raised them from the sea?", as if nowadays He is not found.

3.

Malbim: Moshe was like a shepherd tending Hashem's flock. A master guards the shepherd for the sake of the flock, and guards the flock because it is his property. So Hashem guarded them.

1

Seemingly, 'needed' is not precise. (PF)

4)

Why do they say "where is the One who put Ru'ach Kodsho amidst us?"

1.

Radak: He sent 1 Ru'ach Nevu'ah. Aside from Moshe, Aharon and Miryam, there were 70 Zekenim that Ru'ach Nevu'ah rested on them. Also on Yom Ma'amad Har Sinai, all of them were Nevi'im. The One who did all this - where is He now? Now, Ru'ach Nevu'ah departed from when Chagai, Zecharyah and Malachi died. If Nevi'im were with us, they would tell us the deadline for Ge'ulah 2 , and we would be content.

1

It seems that the text should say 'she'Shalach'. Alternatively, it is a request that he send now. (PF)

2

It would not be pleasant for those who would hear that it will be hundreds of years later! It seems that Hashem wants to conceal the Ketz. (PF) Daniel had Ru'ach ha'Kodesh, and he erred about from when to count the 70 years of Galus Bave (Megilah 12a)! Hashem stopped Yonason ben Uzi'el from translating Kesuvim, for the Ketz is in it (ibid., 3a)!
