What do we learn from "Asof E'esof"?
Rashi: Days will come and I will gather you.
Radak: This and the coming verse are punishments, just like the verses before and after them. You will gather in fortified cities due to fear of the enemy.
Radak (13, citing Targum Yonasan): In the end [of days] I will gather Beis Yakov?
What is the significance of "k'Tzon Batzrah"?
Rashi: Like a great flock put in fortified pens.
Radak: Batzrah is a great city of Edom. It is a land of flocks, and there are great flocks in it. The verse compares Yisrael, when they flee to the cities and gather in them due to fear of the enemy, like flocks that they gather to cities due to the enemies. I.e. they will not have strength to stand against the enemy, like flocks.
Radak (13, citing Targum Yonasan): Batzrah is Chutra. The Targum of "Gidros Tzon" (Bamidbar 32:16) is Chatrin d'An.
Malbim: They will not have the yoke of Torah and Mitzvos like Tzon Kodoshim and Tzon Yerushalayim, rather, like Tzon Batzrah. Batzrah was the capitol of Edom. The flock (people) in it are free from all Torah and Mitzvos. The Navi tells you, also you will be like Goyim without Torah!
What is the meaning of "k'Eder b'Soch ha'Davro Tehimenah me'Adam"?
Rashi citing Targum Yonasan: Like a flock in a Dir ? a place where flocks are conducted. This is like "v'Ra'u Kevasim k'Davram" (Yeshayah 5:17). They will be noisy due to the multitude of people.
Radak: They will be noisy in the city like flocks in their pen. "Ha'Davro" has two Yedi'os 1 . We find like this ? "b'Soch ha'Ahali" (Yehoshua 7:21). The multitude of people will be noisy due to [fear of] the enemy.
Radak (13, citing Targum Yonasan): The Targum of ha'Davro is Dira, like 'one who enters flocks into the Dir' (Bava Kama 60a, i.e. pen).
Malbim: If a Navi will tell you such things, people will not hide in their houses, like they used to flee from hearing a true Navi who told them to guard Mitzvos. Rather, they gather to hear the false Navi's words. His house was full of Hamiyas (the sound of) people, just like the Dvir where they gather flocks is full from the entire flock, and not one is missing. So they were found there together, noisily due to the multitude of people.
The prefix denotes the known one, and also the suffix Vov (its).
