1)

Why does it say regarding Chachmah "Nasun Lach", and regarding wealth and honor, "Eten Lach" (future)?

1.

'Rashi': You requested Chachmah; you did not request wealth and honor.

2.

'Rashi's next words (refer to 1:12:2:1) imply that Hashem immediately gave to him Chachmah, which he requested; the wealth and honor will come later, due to his Chachmah. (PF)

2)

To what does "Asher Lo Hayah Chen?" apply?

1.

'Rashi': It applies to wealth and honor 1 , which he did not request. They, and long life, depend on Chachmah - "Orech Yamim bi'Yminah bi'Smolah Osher v'Chavod" (Mishlei 3:16).

1

Surely 'Rashi' does not exclude Chachmah. In Melachim I, 3:12, Hashem promised that his Chachmah will exceed that of all others before and after, and He fulfilled this (ibid., 10:23; Rashi there brings the latter verse)! Refer to Melachim I, 3:12:2:1,2. (PF)

3)

Will Shlomo's wealth and honor exceed only that of kings before and after him?

1.

Refer to Melachim I, 3:13:2:1 and the note there.
