*********************GIRSA SECTION*********************

We recommend using the textual changes suggested by the Bach, the Tzon Kodashim and the marginal notes of the Vilna Shas. This section is devoted to any other important corrections that Acharonim have pointed out in the Gemara, Rashi and Tosfos.

[1] Gemara 19a [line 13]:

*Ki* Akshah ëé à÷ùä

The word "Ki" ëé is unnecessary

[2] Gemara [line 15]:

Should be corrected as suggested by Shitah Mekubetzes #3

[3] Gemara [line 21]:

Should be corrected as suggested by Shitah Mekubetzes #4

[4] Rashi 19a DH Amar Rav Papa ã"ä àîø øá ôôà:

Should be corrected as suggested by Shitah Mekubetzes #13

1)[line 7]ùéëåì îàé?SHE'YACHOL MAI?- What may I reason to say otherwise?

2)[line 9]åäàé ìàå æø äåà, ãäà àéîùç áâååéäV'HA LAV ZAR HU, D'HA IMSHACH B'GAVEI- (a) I would have thought that a Kohen Gadol is exempt from the laws of Me'ilah when he smears himself with the anointing oil, since he is exempt from the other prohibition involved with smearing the anointing oil, "Bal Yisach" (according to Rebbi Yehudah, Kerisus 6b) (OLAS SHLOMO); (b) I would have thought that a Kohen Gadol is exempt from the laws of Me'ilah whenever he uses an object of Hekdesh, just as he is exempt from Bal Yisach and from Me'ilah when he smears himself with the anointing oil (according to Rebbi Yehudah, Kerisus 6b) (KEREN ORAH, RADAL)

3)[line 20]ãäáà ãëìúéä ãðåïDAHAVA D'CHALASEI D'NUN- the gold [of the jewelry] of the daughter-in-law of Nun (a certain wealthy person who weighed the golden jewelry that he gave to his daughter-in-law and found that after a while its weight diminished)

4)[line 21]ãìîà (ãäáà) [äàé ìäéëà] ãøîééï ëìúéêäåàD ILMA (DAHAVA) [HAI L'HEICHA] D'RAMYAN KALASAICH HU- perhaps it goes to the same place where [the gold of the pieces of jewelry of] your daughter-in-law [goes, since she also carelessly] throws them down [after she wears them]

19b----------------------------------------19b

5)[line 15]ëìé ùøúKLEI SHARES- and the utensils used for the service of the Beis ha'Mikdash

6)[line 15]÷ñáø áòðééðà ãáäîä ëúéáKASAVAR B'INYANA D'VEHEMAH KESIV- the Rabanan maintain that Klei Shares do not have Kedushas ha'Guf (TOSFOS DH Mai)

7)[line 20]òöéíETZIM- wood for the Mizbe'ach

8)[line 21]ùðé âæéøéïSHENEI GEZIRIN (SHENEI GIZREI ETZIM)

The Shenei Gizrei Etzim are two smooth blocks of wood that are one Amah by one Amah, and are as thick as the block used to level a heaping Se'ah (Zevachim 62b). Part of the service of the Korban Tamid included adding these blocks as fuel for the fire on the Mizbe'ach.

9)[line 22]úðåôäTENUFAH

Waving portions of certain Korbanos and flour offerings (and, in the case of our Gemara, the Korban Etzim) is called Tenufah; the Kohen, together with the owner of the Korban (when it is not a Korban Tzibur), waves them in all four directions and up and down (Vayikra 7:30, RASHI to Menachos 62a DH Molich. TOSFOS to Sukah 37b DH Kedei, ponders whether all Tenufos were done in this fashion, or whether some Tenufos required only lifting and lowering).

10)[line 28]ðèì àáï àå ÷åøä ùì ä÷ãùNATAL EVEN O KORAH SHEL HEKDESH- if a person took [and used] a stone or beam of Hekdesh
