(Mishnah): He has the right to her Metzi'os.

Question (R. Zakai of Alexandria): If a Metzi'ah fell to [a daughter] due to [her] field how do you judge it - is it like a Metzi'ah, or eating Peros?

If you consider it like a Metzi'ah, it is his. If you consider it like eating Peros, it is hers.

If she did Nisu'in, her husband has an added privilege. He eats the Peiros of her property in her lifetime. This is an enactment so he will supervise his wife's property, and eat [the Peiros];

Question: I should say so even for a father!

Answer: Even without [such an enactment], a father will supervise his daughter's property.

(Mishnah): [Her husband] is obligated to feed and redeem her.

(Beraisa): If a husband said 'I do not want to eat and supervise, we do not heed him. If a father said 'I will eat and supervise, we heed him.

(Mishnah): [Her husband is obligated] to bury her.

(Beraisa): If her husband did not want to bury her, her father buries her, and extracts [the cost] from [her husband] in Beis Din.

(R. Chagai): This applies only to her father. Someone else [who buried her] does not collect.

(R. Yosi): Whether her father, or someone else, he collects.

This argument is like [the following] argument;

(Mishnah): If one went overseas and Reuven fed the man's wife, Reuven punish his money on a deer's horn (he threw it away; he is not reimbursed).

(R. Chagai): This applies only to someone else [who fed her]. Her father collects;

(R. Yosi): Whether her father, or someone else, he does not collect.

According to R. Chagai, both for burial and food, her father collects, but someone else does not collect.

According to R. Yosi, for burial, whether her father or someone else, he collects. It did not cross [her husband's] mind that his wife will be cast to the dogs (to eat her). And for food, whether her father or someone else, he does not collect.

(Beraisa): Wherever the custom is to eulogize, we eulogize.
