DAF DISCUSSIONS - YEVAMOS 100

Avrumi Hersh asks:

100b top. Mishna.

The mishna says that if both of his fathers are kohanim then he is onen for them, and they are onen for him.

Why is aninus toleh on kehuna? Even if he is a yisroel he has diney aninus even for kodshim as well, no?

The only din that is relevant to kohanim at the end of the mishna, is metamin lo.

Avrumi Hersh, London england

The Kollel replies:

True, even a Yisrael, when he is an Onen, may not eat Kodshim, but serving in the Beis ha'Mikdash is done only by Kohanim, so the Din of Onen applies mainly and more often to Kohanim (but is not excluding Yisraelim).

All the best,

Reuven Weiner
