shannon holt asked:
can you please explain a little clearer what a sharshura is? i understand it is a rope, but what is it made of and what is it used for? thanks!
shannon holt, savannah ga
The Kollel replies:
The Talmud is referring to a rope (or strap) woven from the leaves of a palm-brach. It is used for hanging something from (if it is a rope), or for making into a basket (if it is a strap, according to Shitah Mekubetzes).
