DAF DISCUSSIONS - PESACHIM 74

barbara harris asked:

How do you know if you are in a place where it is prohibited to eat roasted meat? Is the bottom line you can't do it? If the meat is cooked with any gravy/sauce/liquid, is it ok? My real question is what about rack of lamb coated with olive oil and herbs, and cooked in the oven? Is baking the same as roasting? Is broiling? Please help. I could not tell what I need to do or not do from the dafyomi I found. Thank you very much.

The Kollel replies:

Present day Halachic rulings are recorded in the Shulchan Aruch, and not in the Dafyomi (which just provides the raw material). You might want to ask your local Rabbi (or rabbi@shemayisrael.com, Rabbi Feinhandler).

It is customary in all places not to eat roasted lamb by the Seder today. Cooked should be OK.
