A. Morgenstern asked:

How is this possible, considering that there is tircha involved, bringing it to town should cause some increase in price?

A. Morgenstern, Monsey, NY - USA

The Kollel replies:

Although there generally is an increase in price depending upon where the item is delivered, there are times when the seller is willing to absorb the cost of delivery -- even though he is not ready to discount the item itself. This is oftentimes true in our day as well. Although a seller may offer free services, such as delivery, he is not willing to discount the item (even if it is picked up personally by the buyer, saving delivery costs).
