What are the connotations of "v'Heivesi osam b'Eretz Oiveihem"?

Rashi: It is a good Midah. Hashem will accompany us into Galus, 1 and when they want to emulate their host nation, He will send Nevi'im to bring them back on track. 2

What does "O Az Yikana ... " mean?

Rashi #1: It means alternatively, if they humble their uncircumcised hearts. 1

Rashi #2: It means 'Perhaps then their uncircumcised hearts will be humbled'.

Ramban: What the Pasuk means is that Hashem will bring them to the land of their enemies until they either humble themselves before Him or they attain atonement via the length of the Galus.

Targum Yonasan: 'When they are in Galus in the land of their enemies they will evil hearts will be broken and their sins will be atoned. 2

Rosh 3 : They will be humbled due to [the punishment for transgressing] Shabbos, the seventh [day], like the Gematriya of "Oh", and due to Bris Milah, which is on the eighth [day], like the Gematriya of "Az".
