What is the significance of the (unusual Trop) 'Shalsheles' on the word "Vayishchat" as opposed to the 'Esnachta' on "Vayishchat" in Pasuk 19?
Oznayim la'Torah (on Pasuk 19): Whereas the earlier Pasuk is referring to a regular Korban which needed only a minimal amount of blood - to sprinkle on two corners of the Mizbe'ach, the current Pasuk is referring to the Eil ha'Milu'im, where, besides sprinkling the blood on the Mizbe'ach, Moshe also required sufficient blood to place on the middle joints, the thumbs and the ig toes of Aharon and his sons, he made a point of also cutting into the large blood vessels - and this is hinted in the long drawn-out 'Shalsheles'.
Why does the Kohen place some of the blood on the lobe of the right ear and on the right thumb and right big toe?
R. Bachye: Because they correspond to the three parts of the universe ? the world of the Mal?achim ? the ear which is in the head (the location of speech); the world of the Galgalim (the Heavenly bodies that run the world) - the thumb 1 of the right hand which represents the middle section of the body (next to the heart ? which is the central force of movement), and this world ? the right toe ? which represents the lower part of the body. 2 Moshe now sprinkled the blood on Aharon (a mini-world) who was designated to serve Hashem in the Mishkan, which comprised the same three sections: the Kodesh Kodashim - the world of the Mal?achim; the Ohel Mo?ed ? world of the Galgalim, and the Chatzer ? this world.
