Ba'al ha'Turim: Here he could not buy from a Yisrael (for he realized that this is the place to build the Beis ha'Mikdash ? refer to 21:25:1:4*). These (including the parallel verse in Shmuel II, 24:24) are the only three verses in which it says "Kano".
