What is "Beis Resha'im"?

1.

Rashi (12): It is Beis Aram.

2)

How are the two halves of this verse connected?

1.

R. Yonah: Just like grain does not grow by bad weeds, when they increase and enter among [the grain], so Yesharim are not glorified and honored, and they cannot strengthen the straight and lower the vain when Resha'im increase and Yesharim dwell among them. Resha'im always try to remove the ornaments of the Yesharim's honor - "Saviv Resha'im Yis'halachun Kerum Zulus li'Vnei Adam" (Tehilim 12:9) - when the lowly are elevated, Resha'im are strengthened and go around Tzadikim and try to lower their glory. Kevod Resha'im is found only among the lowly.

2.

Malbim: This sense [of his deeds] foretells what will be his end. "Lev Yode'a Maras Nafsho" (10), that Beis Resha'im will be destroyed. Even if it is built with strength, it will not last. Yesharim sense that their tent will sprout. Even though they do not have a house, only a haphazard tent, and it did not sprout or grow yet, it will sprout and grow very tall.
