What are the ramifications of the phrase, "b'Etzem ha'Yom ha'Zeh"?

1.

Rashi (to Devarim 32:48) and Targum Yonasan: The moment the date fell due, Hashem took them out. (It was on the fifteenth of Nisan that the angels informed Avraham that Yitzchak would be born - Rashi). On the (subsequent) fifteenth of Nisan ,Yitzchak was born; on the fifteenth of Nisan (thirty years earlier), the decree of the Bris Bein ha'Besarim took place; and on the fifteenth of Nisan, Hashem took Yisrael out of Egypt.

2.

Hadar Zekenim: The Parshah "Kadesh Li Kol Bechor" (13:1-10) was said the day that Yisrael left, as the Torah states there, "Ha'Yom Atem Yotze'im"(13:4). 1

3.

Sifrei (in Ha'azinu); Rashi (to Devarim 32:48): This is to counter the threats of the Egyptians, who announced that if Yisrael would attempt to leave Egypt, they would not let them. To which Ha'Kadosh-Baruch-Hu replied, 'I will take them out in the middle of the day ("b'Etzem ha'Yom ha'Zeh"), and whoever has the strength to intervene, is welcome to try!'

4.

Riva: Refer to 12:51:1:2.

1

Ibn Ezra and Riva say this about this same phrase in verse 12:51 - which is just before Parshas "Kadesh" (Shemos 13). Perhaps also Hadar Zekenim means to say that, and his comment was mistakenly printed on this Pasuk (PF).

Why was Makas Bechoros at night, whereas the actual Exodus was specifically by day?

1.

Refer to 12:12:2.

3)

What is the ultimate purpose that the Torah gives for the Exodus from Egypt?

1.

Maharal (Gevuros Hashem, beg. Ch. 66, p. 305): As the Torah stated at the beginning of the account of the Exodus - "I shall take you unto Me as a nation; and I shall be for you, a G-d" (Shemos 6:7); "I am Hashem, Who brought them out from the Land of Egypt, to dwell amongst them" (29:46). 1

Maharal writes at length about this topic - What is the importance of the Shechinah dwelling here in the lower realms (and not just in the upper realms)? Maharal explains that this is the progression of Sefer Shemos. After leaving Egypt, we were commanded in the Aseres ha'Dibros, "I am Hashem your G-d, Who brought you out of Egypt" (20:2). That is followed by Parshas Mishpatim; accepting Hashem as our G-d, obligates us to accept His laws of judgment (a justice directs the nation). This is immediately followed by Parshas Terumah - "They shall make for Me a Mikdash, and I will dwell amongst them" (25:8).

QUESTIONS ON RASHI

4)

Rashi writes: "'On that very day' - ... It was on the fifteenth of Nisan that the angels came to inform Avraham ... and [also] that Yitzchak was born.... " What is the significance of this date?

1.

Maharal (Chidushei Agados Vol. 4, p. 112, to Chulin 92a): The Jewish People set their calendar by the moon, Just as the moon reaches its greatest fullness at the 15th of the month, that is when Bnei Yisrael reach their greatest heights. 1

Also refer to 12:2:4.1, as to why the Redemption came specifically in this month of Nisan, according to Maharal.
