Explanation: They enacted [to say ha'Tov veha'Metiv] in Birkas ha'Mazon.
ומש"ה תקנו יותר על היין הטוב והמטיב טפי מבשאר דברים לפי שהיו [כמו] גדר בכרם ולא נסרחו.
The reason they enacted ha'Tov veha'Metiv on wine (when one brings a better wine than what he blessed on) more than on others matters is because [the bodies of those killed in Beitar] were like a fence in a vineyard and did not rot [for many years until they were buried].

Explanation: They refrain from cutting wood for the Ma'arachah, because the sun is not so strong [after Av 15], and worms grow in trees, and wormy wood is Pasul for the Ma'arachah.

Explanation: One who does not add [learning] at night in addition to [what he learns during] the days, will perish.

Answer: It seems that the text is "d'Lo Mosif Yasif." The Gemara asked "what is Yasif?"
אבל לעולם הוה ידע דיאסף הוא לשון מיתה כדכתיב (בראשית מט) ויגוע ויאסף אל עמיו.
It knew that Ye'asef is an expression of death - "va'Yigva v'Ye'asef El Amav."
