Rashi: They are [gold] quivers to hold arrows, like it says "Haveru ha'Chitzim Mil'u ha'Shelatim" (Yirmeyah 51:11).

Why does the Navi write all of this here, after the Parshah of [David's desire to build] the Beis ha'Mikdash?

Rashi: From all these wars, David gathered [conquered wealth] for the Beis ha'Mikdash.

Why does it say "El Avdei Hadad'ezer"?

Radak: This is like Al Avdei, and so it says in Divrei ha'Yamim I, 18:7.

Why does it say that he brought them to Yerushalayim?

1.

Radak #1: He did not allow them to redeem them, like he let them redeem the captured soldiers (verse 4).

2.

Radak #2: He brought them to Yerushalayim, to the storehouse of Beis Hashem, for Hekdesh (to build the Beis ha'Mikdash).
