Rashi and Targum Onkelos: It means 'We wish we had died by means of the same death 1 as our brothers'. 2

Targum Yonasan: 'We wish we had died when our brothers died'. 3

Rashi: Had they meant that they wished they had died when their brothers died, then they would have said (not "bi'Geva", but) 'bi"Gevo'a'.

Rashi: Pestilence - which is not as horrific a death as that of thirst.
