Rashi (31, according to the Mashal): Resha'im are judged with fire and snow. Vilna Gaon - this is like "Tashleg b'Tzalmon" (Tehilim 68:15).

Malbim (Derech ha'Muskal): Snow is a metaphor for death. Man's life is [based on] natural heat and blood circulation. With death come snow, cold, and blood freezes. Even though bodily life ceases, she does not fear for her house (powers of the Nefesh) lest they remain without garments. Then, they will be clothed with different 1 garments, from Torah and Mitzvos that she did. They become spiritual garments for the Nefesh.

Perhaps Malbim explains "Shanim" like Shonim; she has varied garments from the varied Mitzvos that she did. (PF)

Rashi (31, according to the Mashal) #2: The Torah is clothed with double expressions - "Nason Titen", "Paso'ach Toftach", "Ha'anik Ta'anik" (Devarim 15:10, 8, 14). All these save from snow of Gehinom (Tanchuma Re'eh 13).

Colored garments absorb sunlight and protect from the cold better than white garments. Black absorbs best, but black garments show sadness, e.g. Midos 5:4. (PF)
