Why does he say to the father "Mah Tolid"?

1.

Rashi #1: He thinks that he will have more mercy on the son than his father. (Why didn't you give birth to a higher form?)

2.

Rashi #2: The son asks his father, why did you father me [like this]? He is like [a Kli] that quarrels with the one who formed it.

3.

Radak: This would never happen. How is Nebuchadnetzar haughty over Kel? He is like substance in the hand of the potter. It says similarly about Melech Ashur "ha'Yispa'er ha'Garzen Al ha'Chotzev" (10:15).

4.

Malbim: If you will say that due to his substance, man must receive evils, why did Hashem make him? This is like a man asking his father, why did you father me? This is folly! Hashem made from each substance the best possible from it. Man is formed from semen and blood. It is not possible that he not die or get ill 1 . Even so, existence is better than not existing. It is good and Chesed for man!

If not for Chet Eitz ha'Da'as, man would have lived forever! Yisrael returned to that state at Matan Torah, but reverted to mortality due to Chet ha'Egel (Bamidbar Rabah 16:24, and so implies Avodah Zarah 5a)! Initially there was no illness, until Yakov requested it (Pirkei d'R. Eliezer 52)! This requires investigation. (PF)
