What did Hashem send to Bavel?

1.

Rashi #1, citing Targum Yonasan: Due to your sins, I exiled you to Bavel.

2.

Rashi #2: This refers to tidings of the Ge'ulah. I will send the kings of Madai to Bavel with boats and rudders, to exile [Bavel] to Madai.

3.

Radak: I sent Koresh to Bavel to destroy it and take you out of it, and return you to your land.

4.

Ibn Ezra: I come to redeem you so quickly, it is as if I was sent 1 to Bavel.

5.

Ibn Ezra citing a Chacham:Hashem speaks to the Navi. The Sar of Yisrael 2 was sen t to Bavel to redeem Yisrael. Radak - I have a tradition that it is read Shilachti with a Chirik. Targum Yonasan understood so, just he explains that Hashem sent Yisrael. Chazal understood that it is Shulachti; they expounded that wherever Yisrael was exiled, the Shechinah was with them (Megilah 29a). Also when they were exiled to Eilam, "v'Samti Kis'i b'Eilam" (Yirmeyah 49:38).

1

Radak: He explains as if it says Shulachti. This is astounding!

2

Presumably, this refers to Micha'el, who is called "Sarchem" (Daniel 10:21).

3.

Radak #2: Varichim means in boats. The Veis is a prefix; Richim are boats that go in the Ru'ach (wind).

4.

Malbim: I felled Bavel's fortresses and exiled them in boats, in order to redeem you from there.

5)

1.

Rashi #1: They took you in boats of their song.

2.

Rashi #2: I will make the Bavliyim descend [to Madai] in the boats in which they used to sing.

3.

Radak: They will flee in boats, screaming (crying). Rinasam is like "Kumi Roni va'Laylah" (Eichah 2:19).
