Malbim: Good and bad can be relative. Something is called good with respect to something worse than it, but it itself is not very good. Yirmeyah said that these absolutely good and bad, without comparison to others worse or better than them. They are very good, for they were picked immediately. The bad became worse because they were not picked until they became very bad.
