Why does it say "Ein Kesef Nechshav"?

1.

Rashi (Melachim I, 10:21): None of the Kelim were of silver, for silver had no importance 1 .

2.

Yalkut Chadash (David, 64-65): Shlomo considered silver to be worthless, and discarded it. Hashem said, due to this he will need to take [Tzedakah] from people 2 .

1

Refer to 9:20:2:1 and the note there.

2

I.e. when Ashmedai threw Shlomo 400 Parsa'os (about 1600 kilometers), he was left with only his staff (or cloak), and went begging from door to door (Gitin 68b). (PF)

2)

Here it says that silver had no importance in the days of Shlomo. Below (verse 27) and in Melachim I, 10:27 it says that it was like stones!

1.

Refer to 1:15:3:1, 1:15:3:1 1 .
