What do we learn from "Al Yismach Yisrael El Gil ka'Amim"?

1.

Gitin 7a: This teaches that song is forbidden.

2.

Rashi: Do not rejoice like the early idolaters ? they did not receive Torah and come to My portion.

3.

Radak: If a matter of Simchah occurs, e.g. a wedding, do not rejoice like other nations. They did not abandon their gods, and you were Mezaneh from your G-d and served gods of the nations. You should mourn over this, and not rejoice over any Simchah. After Moshe rebuked Dor ha'Midbar for the Egel, "va'Yishma ha'Am Es ha'Davar ha'Ra ha'Zeh va'Yis'abalu" (Shemos 33:4). Nevi'im rebuke them every day, and they do not put it to heart!

4.

Malbim: Yisrael, you cannot rejoice like other nations, for they are under the Ma'arachah ? "Asher Chalak Hashem Elokecha Osam l'Chol ha'Amim (Devarim 4:19). When Mazal succeeds for them and the Ma'arachah is good, they rejoice. You are not under the stars. You are betrothed to Hashem ? "Ki Vo'alayich Osaayich Hashem Tzevakos Shmo" (Yeshayah 54:5).

2)

Why does it mention "Ki Zanisa"?

1.

Rashi: Via this, you lost great good.

2.

Malbim: When you veer from Hashem's Hashgachah to serve other gods, you are like a woman who is Mezanah under her husband.

3)

How did they love Esnan?

1.

Rashi: They loved to be like a Zonah, to receive Esnan.

2.

Radak: The Nevi'im metaphorically call idolatry Zenus.

4)

What is the significance of "Al Kol Garnos"?

1.

Rashi: This is like a Zonah ? they give to her grain in the granary for her Esnan.

2.

Radak #1: When I gave to you granaries full of grain [you were Mezaneh] ? "va'Yishman Yeshurun va'Yiv'at" (Devarim 32:15).

3.

Radak #2: When the grain was in the granary, they served idolatry there in the granary, based on their thinking that the matter served, it gives the grain.

4.

Malbim: You are like a Zonah who loves Esnan, therefore she goes to all the granaries to be Mezanah there and receive Esnan. So you roam from nation to nation to find your sustenance.
