Seforno: It means that Eretz Yisrael is a land where money is always available, 1 since a shortage of money is worse than when food is expensive. 2

Rashbam and Targum Yonasan: It means that they will eat not only dry bread (like poor people - Rashbam) but they will have sweet fruits to eat together with it.

3.

Oznayim la'Torah: It means that they will not need to measure their bread for fear that it will create heart-problems.

B'rachos, 36b: It means exactly what it says - 'Eretz Yisrael lacks nothing!' 1 .

What are the implications of "Eretz asher Avanehah Barzel u'me'Hararehah Tachtzov Nechoshes "?

Ramban #1: You will set out to mine stones, but you will discover that they are iron - to inform us that in Eretz Yisrael it is possible to mine iron and copper.

Ramban #2 (citing Targum Yerushalmi): "Eretz asher Avanehah Barzel" - refers to large stones, heavy stones and hewn stones that are ideal for building houses, walls and towers.

Seforno: It also contains high-quality metals that are good for building and for manufacturing vessels,

Targum Yonasan: It refers to its Chachamim who issue decrees that are as firm as iron, 1 and its Talmidim who ask questions that shine like copper.

5.

Ta'anis, 4a: Do not read 'Avanehah Barzel', but "Bonehah Barzel" (with reference to Talmidei-Chachamim) - to teach us that a Talmid-Chacham who is not as tough as iron 2 is not a true Talmid-Chacham.

B'rachos, 44a: To teach us that we recite Birchas ha'Mazon over bread but not over the other species listed in Pasuk 8, which require B'racah Achas Me'ein Shalosh. 1
