What do we learn from "Hu Avi Birzayis"?
Bereishis Rabah (71:10) #1: It is written Berazos. This is like Perazos 1 (open cities) - Asher received palaces better than Yehudah's lands.
Bereishis Rabah (71:10) #2: Bnos Asher were beautiful; they married Kohanim [Gedolim] who were anointed with Shemen ha'Mishchah, which is Shemen Zayis; some say, they married kings, who were anointed with Shemen Zayis.
'Rashi': Malki'el was Birzayis' father.
Tosfos ha'Shalem (Bereishis 30:11:10): It is written Berazos. The Gematriya of Razos is 613. One who regularly [consumes] olive oil will be expert in Razei (secrets of) Torah.
Malbim: The people of the city Birzayis descended from Malki'el.
Rashba (Chulin 59b): Beis and Pei are interchangeable (both are pronounced from the lips - PF). We find Hevker in place of Hefker (Pe'ah 6:1).
