Why does it say "li'Vnei Kehas ha'Nosarim"?
'Rashi': The Kohanim came from Kehas; the Kohanim's cities were already listed. These are of other Leviyim from Kehas.
What is the meaning of "mi'Mishpachas ha'Mateh mi'Machatzis ha'Mateh"?
'Rashi': Kehas remain from Mateh Levi. From Chetzi Menasheh they received 10 cities 1 .
Malbim: They took from a whole Shevet, and half a Shevet. It says in Yehoshua that they took from Efrayim, Dan and Chetzi Menasheh. However, since Dan did not take their inheritance (refer to 6:54:1:2), they took only from Efrayim and [Chetzi] Menasheh, for their portions were adjacent.
Is it reasonable that half a Shevet gave more than Yehudah (the biggest Shevet) and Shimon combined?! Also, below it lists six cities from Efrayim, and only two from Chetzi Menasheh! (PF)
