1)

Why does it say that the doors were of Beroshim wood? Verse 32 said that they were of Atzei Shemen!

1.

Radak (32): There were two sets of two doors (refer to 6:32:3:1. One set was of Beroshim wood, and one of Atzei Shemen.)

2)

What are "Shnei Tzela'im"?

1.

Rashi, above Targum Yonasan: They are hinges. Each door had an upper hinge and a lower hinge.

2.

Radak: They are two sides of the doors, the inner and the outer. Both were made Gelilim.

3.

Malbim: Each 'door' consisted of two planks.

3)

What are "Gelilim"?

1.

Rashi: They are oval.

2.

Gra: Where the two doors of each gate met at the hinge, they were rounded. If not, they would not fold 1 !

1

I.e. the hinge was between the doors. If the hinge was in front of where the doors meet, they would be able to meet even if they were not rounded. (PF)

4)

What are "Shnei Kela'im"?

1.

Rashi citing Targum Yonasan: Also these are hinges. This is an expression of entering in Arame'ic. The hinge enters a hole in the threshold.

2.

Radak #1: This is like Tzela'im. We find [that Kuf and Tzadi are interchangeable, e.g.] "Teratzdun" (Tehilim 68:17) is like Terakdun.

3.

Radak #2: This teaches that Kala (he drew) on them the shape of Keruvim.

4.

Gra: The two [doors in each gate, when the gate opened, folded [onto each other].

5.

Malbim: [Each 'door' consisted of two planks. One had Gelilim, and the other) had two braided forms.

5)

What does "ha'Deles ha'Shenis Gelilim" teach?

1.

Gra: Also the second half of the door (the other half of each gate) was rounded like the first (refer to 6:34:3:2).
