What do they say with their mouths?

1.

Rashi (7): The entire day they inform on me with their mouths.

2.

Radak: They say words as harsh as Charavos (swords) about David

3.

Malbim: They will kill me in the morning with swords

2)

Why does it say "Charavos"?

1.

Radak: Refer to 59:8:1:2.

2.

Malbim: This hints to one of the two ways in which they are worse than dogs. (a) Dogs only bark - they speak! (b) Dogs bite - they kill with swords! Also refer to 59:8:1:3.

3)

Why did he say "Ki Mi Shome'a"?

1.

Rashi: They say in their hearts 'who hears?!'

2.

Radak: (a) They did not know that David hears. If they knew, they would not speak, lest he become king and punish them. They were coerced to guard him, but not to talk about him! (b) They were not afraid of Kel, who hears their words.

3.

Malbim: They did not know that I hear. They thought that I will not find out until morning.
