Why should they blow [the Shofar] around it?
Radak: This is to confound it, like [Yisrael] did to Yericho.
Malbim: This is a sign that the wall was captured.
What is the meaning of "Nasenah Yadah"?
Rashi: This is like a man without any strength stretches out his hand to everyone he sees, to request mercy and help. The same applies to "Mitzrayim Nasanu Yad" (Eichah 5:6) - we stuck out our hand to Egypt, to request help from them.
Radak: It handed itself over to the enemies, for it could not stand against them.
Malbim: It ceased to fight.
What are "Ashyoseha"?
Rashi: They are the strength of its foundations. The same applies to "v'Ushaya Yachitu" (Ezra 4:12). A Mishnah (Bava Kama 50a) says 'these who dig for Ushin.' It says also "v'His'oshashu" (Yeshayah 46:8).
Radak: They are its foundations 1 . Also in Arame'ic "v'Ushaya Yachitu" (Ezra 4:12, are its foundations).
Malbim: Since the foundations fell, automatically "its walls were destroyed."
What is "Ka'asher Asesah"?
Rashi: It is like Bavel did to Ir Hashem.
Radak: Like it destroyed the walls of Yerushalayim (so will be done to it).
Malbim: Like [Bavel] destroyed many nations, [do so to it]!
