What are the implications of the words "Al Panai"?

Rashi: It implies either 'wherever Hashem is' 1 or 'as long as He exists'. 2

Targum Onkelos and Targum Yonasan: It implies any deity other than Hashem.

Rashbam: It implies even if one believes in the Omnipotence of Hakadosh-Baruch-Hu 3 and one is only using other gods for divining purposes. 4

Rashi: In other words 'everywhere'.

Rashbam: Similar to the word "Iti" in Sh'mos 20:23, and similar to the connotations of "Bilti la'Hashem Levado" in Yisro Sh'mos, 22:19.

Rashbam: Like Lavan, who referred to his images (which were solely for the purpose of divining) as 'My gods' - See Bereishis 31:30.
