Why does it say "Dirshu Tov"?

1.

Radak: The Navi returns to rebuke them ? perhaps they will listen.

2.

Malbim: This explains "Dirshuni vi'Chyu; v'Al Tidreshu Beis Kel" (4-5). If you want to live, it will not be via seeking Beis Kel (its calf, i.e. evil), rather, via seeking Hashem, i.e. good.

3.

Malbim (15): Refer to 5:15:1:2.

2)

What is the meaning of "vi'Hi Chen"?

1.

Rashi: If you will do this (Radak ? seek good and distance evil), Hashem will be with you.

3)

What did you say in your hearts?

1.

Rashi: Your greatness will be fulfilled.

2.

Radak: You will have success and good.

3.

Malbim: You strive that Hashem will be among you to save you from your enemies and afflictions. However, you choose means to this that distance Hashem from you! Via the calves and extortion, Hashem hides His face from you.
