What is included in the Terumah?

1.

Radak: Har ha'Bayis and its contents, the inheritance of the Kohanim and Leviyim, and Achuzas ha'Ir.

2)

How can Yerushalayim be in its place? Initially it was on the north border of Yehudah, who received in the south, and now it is in the middle of the Shevatim!

1.

Rashi: This division is unlike Yehoshua's. This is like rows of a vineyard; all the portions are equal. In Yehoshua's division, Yehudah received a very big portion, so Shimon received amidst Yehudah ? "mi'Chevel Bnei Yehudah Nachalas Bnei Shimon." Therefore, now five Shevatim will receive in place of what Yehudah received then 1 , for it is very long from the east border until the Okainus in the west 2 . Yerushalayim will be in its place.

1

Even though Yehudah was the biggest Shevet, Shimon was the smallest! Together, they were less than a sixth of Bnei Yisrael! Why will this suffice for five Shevatim? Perhaps those five Shevatim will have few people. Or, initially Yehudah received more area, because his land was inferior; now, it will not be.

2

Also then, Yehudah received from the east border until the Yam in the west! Perhaps the land will expand, and it will be wider (refer to 48:1:3:2). (PF)

3)

It is written b'Sochah, and we pronounce it b'Socho!

1.

Radak: The Kesiv 1 refers to the Terumah; the pronunciation refers to the Chelek (portion).

2.

Refer to 48:18:2:2.

Minchas Shai: This is in a minority of texts. In most texts, also the Kesiv is b'Socho.
