Why does it say "Ki Hoshatanu mi'Tzar'einu"?

Radak: Many times You saved our fathers, and You saved us in exile when they stand against us to eradicate us; You annul their counsel.

Malbim: This proves that we cannot win in war via our strength. Whenever You saved us from our afflicters, "we praised You the entire day" (verse 9). We did not attribute the salvation to ourselves, for we know that we could not win via nature.

Why were our haters embarrassed?

Rashi: One who says that he will do something, and he does not succeed, he is embarrassed.
