What does the verse teach?
Rashi: My request is only [that You save me from my sin - verse 9].
Radak: In my illness, my hope is only from You, and not from the doctors.
Malbim: What do I hope for in this world? Here is not the place of my happiness and hope. My Tocheles 1 is for another world.
Malbim: GTikvah is something not clear.
Is there a difference between Tikvah and Tocheles?
Malbim: Yes. Tikvah is for something not clear. Tocheles is for something clear; the world to come is clear and guaranteed. My Tocheles is You - Hashem is the good waiting for Tzadikim. Their Nefesh will return to the bind of life, to its source, i.e. Hashem; Tzadikim sit with crowns on their heads, and enjoy the radiance of the Shechinah (Brachos 17a).
