What is the meaning of "Tis'hapech k'Chomer Chosam"?
Rashi: Man's form is transformed to mud [when he dies].
Ibn Ezra: The land transforms to different forms, like mud of (used to make) a signet.
Malbim: The influence of light on the land carves different forms in it. Heat and light make all vegetation and flowers sprout, and beautify the land. They dry the moisture, until it is dry like a signet from clay. The Creator's name is signed on His works.
What stands like a garment?
Rashi: In Techiyas ha'Mesim, people will stand in their garments.
Ibn Ezra: People are like a garment on the land; every day it switches them (some die, and others are born).
Malbim: The land is clothed and wrapped in matters derived from it - "Lavshu Charim ha'Tzon va'Amakim Ya'atfu Var." This is due to the light; darkness is naked, without any form or covering.
